VOICES
Amplifying Rare Voices,
Embracing our commonalities.
We are UnheardVoices.
Our mission is to ensure that the voices of those within the Rare Disease Communities are heard, to foster greater understanding and compassion, and to bring light where darkness and misconceptions often reside.
We strive to raise awareness,
Beyond raising voices for the unheard, we honor the prism of cognition—how light fractures into a thousand ways of knowing, each refraction a story, each color a world.
We aim to amplify every voice,
Awareness is just the beginning. What we truly champion is the poetry of perception—the boundless ways our minds paint the universe.
We want to ensure that all individuals receive the care, compassion, and support they deserve.
Our goal is to make our surroundings a more inclusive and compassionate place for all.
Our Advocacies

Our Main Missions and Actions
01
Spreading knowledge and Advocate for Awareness towards Rare Genetic Disorders
At UnheardVoices, we believe in the power of storytelling. By interviewing rare disease families, we aim to spread awareness and foster empathy within society. These narratives, enriched with scientific insights from five relevant articles, create a bridge between personal experiences and the broader medical community. With over 10,000 viewing Stories of different rare diseases recorded , we’re pleased to share precious pieces of resilience, grit and solidarity to the world, resonating far and wide, and driving a deeper understanding of the challenges faced by those happened to be gifted by rare genetic conditions.
02
Addressing Healthcare Inequities through Fundraising
Our fundraising initiative through bakery sales aims to provides essential financial support to families navigating the challenges of rare disease families, striving to dismantle an unequal healthcare and medical resource allocation system using our meagre strengths.
In 5 selling events, we've raised ¥33,000, with each event attracting over 120 sales from like-minded fellows who're also passionate in advocacy, in fighting against inequities, and in pursuits for healthcare justice and equity.
This social venture not only serves as a source of funding for rehabilitation training fees for improving motor skills of children with rare genetic disorders, but also cultivates a spirit of solidarity, demonstrating that together, we can make a difference - for children, for families, for systemic justice and for a tomorrow where we can all thrive together.
03
Empathize by Visting
At our core, we believe in truly understanding the lives of rare disease families. In partnership with Houde Hospital in Shenzhen, Longhua, and Siqi Rehabilitation Center, we actively engage with families to listen, learn, and understand their unique experiences and challenges.
We take the time to interact with neurodivergent children through play and activities, building genuine bonds and gaining insight into their mental and emotional worlds. This connection allows us to see beyond surface needs and address deeper, more personal requirements; also enabled us to empathize with authentic challenges facing the community, empowering us to become effective and sincere helpers abandoning savior complexity.
By communicating with therapists, we gain a fuller understanding of the predicaments faced by families, such as the lack of health insurance or other systemic barriers. Our goal is to use this knowledge to direct resources to those most in need, ensuring our support is both meaningful and impactful — without falling into the trap of a savior complex. We approach our work with empathy, striving to be true allies who listen and act in the best interests of those we aim to help.
